Senior Advisor - Cyber Security
Office of the Chief Information Officer
US Department of Housing and Urban Development
Stacy Dawn is the former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). As CISO for EXIM, Stacy works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that cybersecurity concerns are addressed in all hardware and software lifecycle phases, including development, deployment, continued operations, and decommissioning. Stacy has been a federal employee for more than 21 years and held a prior CISO role with the Corporation for National and Community Service. She also previously served as Assistant Director for Privacy and Security at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Stacy believes that cybersecurity should not create an unnecessary interference with customer needs and the execution of EXIM's mission.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems and a Master's of Science in Management/Human Resources Management. Stacy also belongs to many organizations fostering government and industry partnerships and providing mentorship. It is her goal to encourage America's youth to study cybersecurity to help narrow the projected gap of cybersecurity professionals anticipated in the upcoming decade. Stacy maintains her CISSP certification and encourages certification in addition to higher education and internships/broad work assignments for those who want to be successful in the field.
