Government Project and Portfolio Management in a Time of Transition Training Workshop

February 24, 2009 – City Club of Washington at Columbia Square

Workshop Description

In today's "projectized" enterprise, stressed agencies must manage their projects differently. The reality is that few will make the adjustment. Aversion to risk grows and materially changes organizational behavior as resources get tight. This workshop will help portfolio and program managers look outside their domains to effectively assess how their changing environment affects their project portfolios and evolve their risk models-and business cases-accordingly.

What You Will Learn

  • How are shifting operating environments affecting your project portfolios?
  • What can you do now to mitigate the adverse effects of recession on your projects and operating environment?
  • How can a portfolio approach demonstrate your understanding of the business and the relevancy of the capital investments underway?

Why You Should Attend

You will be guided in exploring what the best, most likely, and worst case scenarios mean to your project portfolios-and what you can do now.
